Eye care project

To date, we have carried out 500 free eye check ups and given out glasses to those that needed them.

Capacity building

At the invitation of an Italian aid organisation, a group of Mpowering People children painted their local health centre in return for new maps and other materials for their school. You can imagine how proud they are of their new hard-earned treasures and how carefully they treat them.

Environment

In collaboration with the Nicaraguan Environment Ministry, the children undertake to keep the rivers that run through their local neighbourhoods clean.

Annual fun fair

Every year the parents organise a fun fair to raise money for the student's graduation ceremony.

Benefit concert

In 2007, we organised a special benefit concert. With the help of the musicians and artists of León, our concert raised money for a family with a child in coma whose improvised plastic house had collapsed. The project was a great success and the concept is now being repeated in various different forms.
