How MPowering People is organised

Our organisation consists of two foundations: one in the Netherlands and one in Nicaragua called the Fundación Mpowering People. Currently, both are run by the same board of directors but we are working to make the Nicaraguan foundation independent within the next 10 years.

Our team in the Netherlands

The Dutch team consists entirely of volunteers. Alongside the board, these include people dedicated to fund-raising activities, PR events and school campaigns. Our founder and director, Dorien van Schie, is concerned with policy development and new projects while our other board members advise on general and financial policies and project strategy.

Our team In Nicaragua

The Nicaraguan team ensures the educational programme is carried out professionally. They are paid a market-based wage.

Support from volunteers and interns

Our local team regularly receives support from volunteers and interns.
